Tasker, Irene G. (1887-1977)
In this informal talk Irene Tasker tells the story of her first lessons with Alexander in 1913, her ‘apprenticeship’ in which she helped Alexander with his pupils and with the editing of his books (with Miss Webb). She makes what amounts to a 3-page digression defending Alexander’s style of writing. She also relates her teaching of children at the school at Ashley Place and her experiences in South Africa. In conclusion she discusses the responsibilites a teacher has for Alexander’s work.
