Review by Alice Olsher
First published in STATNews, vol. 4 no. 13, September 1995. This book is an entertaining and informative. It has a step by step guide which, if followed, will teach you how to juggle in a non-endgaining way. The author suggests that it will add to the understanding of the book if it is followed in a practical way.

One nice bit was “practicing doesn’t make perfect but perfect practice makes perfect” in which the authors distinguish between conscious practise with good use which will perfect good habits, and mindless practise which only reiterates bad habits.

There are chapters on relaxed concentration (on which the authors have done a lot of personal research), visualisation (how the mind affects the body) and learning how to learn. All these subjects are very familiar to people in the Alexander world.

It is a thought-provoking and enjoyable read, even if you don’t end up joining a circus!
